About Us
Formosa Brew — Rooted in Taiwan. Curated for Brussels.
The Observation
The inception of FORMOSA brew began with a clear observation in Europe’s high-end hospitality scene. For non-drinking guests at exclusive events and fine-dining tables, the zero-proof options have always been an afterthought. Sweet juices, flat waters, or superficial mocktails consistently lack the depth, complexity, and respect afforded to wine drinkers.
The Medium
The solution was found in the rich heritage of Taiwan. The island produces some of the most nuanced and complex teas in the world. When treated with the same respect as a fine wine—precisely cold-steeped and served with intention—it offers an unparalleled sensory experience. It is not just a beverage; it is a profound medium of terroir and uncompromising craftsmanship.
The Curation
FORMOSA brew was established to bring the absolute best of Taiwanese tea to Europe, not merely as an agricultural product, but as a curated experience. By bridging this cultural heritage with the highest standards of modern hospitality, we deliver Gastronomic Equity for fine dining and Elite Sobriety for corporate boardrooms.
No compromise. No apologies. Just the true prestige of Taiwan’s finest leaves in every glass.
Founder’s Note
LIN, Founder of FORMOSA brew
LIN was born and raised in Taiwan and is a certified tea taster. FORMOSA brew began from something profoundly simple: she could not live without Taiwanese tea.
Every time she shared it with friends and colleagues in Europe, she witnessed the exact same reaction—surprise, curiosity, and genuine admiration for its depth and character.
Living in Europe, Lin once struggled with questions of identity. Her ancestors came from China generations ago, her mother tongue is Chinese, and she carries one-quarter Japanese heritage—yet her nationality is proudly Taiwanese. This sense of being shaped by multiple influences, while not fully belonging to any single dominant narrative, is a reality shared by many people in Taiwan.
For a long time, this "in-between" position created uncertainty. But through Taiwan’s tea and agricultural culture, Lin gradually found clarity. She saw how life on a small, mountainous island had shaped its people and its terroir: diverse in expression, resilient in spirit, and deeply creative in how they respond to limitations.
Today, FORMOSA brew is her way of sharing this understanding with the world.
Having known what it means to sit outside the dominant narrative, Lin recognized a similar exclusion in European hospitality, where non-drinking guests are often treated as an afterthought. Through the medium of premium tea, she introduces not only the lived experience of Taiwan, but a new standard of Gastronomic Equity and Elite Sobriety—curating these experiences honestly, without simplification, and with quiet confidence.
