A Milestone September for FORMOSA brew: Bringing Taiwanese Tea to European Audiences

Brussels, October 2026

FORMOSA brew marked a milestone in September with a sold-out workshop at the Brussels Tea Festival and the honour of serving Taiwanese tea at the Taiwan Embassy’s National Day reception. These two events brought the brand’s approach to Taiwanese tea to a wider international audience, combining cultural storytelling, guided tasting and contemporary food pairings.

A Sold-Out Workshop Welcoming Guests from Across Europe

On 27 September, FORMOSA brew hosted A Taiwanese Tea Journey Through the 24 Solar Terms, an exclusive workshop at the Brussels Tea Festival.

The workshop welcomed guests from more than ten countries, reflecting an encouraging interest in Taiwanese tea and the cultural perspectives behind it.

Led by founder Yi-Chun Lin, the session connected Taiwan’s landscapes, tea craftsmanship and the Twenty-Four Solar Terms—a traditional system for observing the changing year. Guests explored how seasonal awareness can inspire everyday tea choices through flavour, preparation and personal preference.

The tasting began with cold-brewed Milky Oolong, followed by Red Oolong and Oriental Beauty. Selected nuts, dried fruits and chocolates offered a simple, engaging introduction to tea pairing, allowing guests to discover how familiar foods can reveal new dimensions in a cup of tea.

Every participant received a full-sized pack of Taiwanese Red Oolong, extending the experience beyond the workshop and into their own homes.

At the festival stand, visitors also discovered FORMOSA brew’s wider collection, from honey-scented oolongs to deeply roasted teas. The enthusiastic response to both the workshop and the collection marked an important step for the independent brand, established less than eighteen months earlier.

An Honour at Taiwan’s National Day Reception

On 30 September, FORMOSA brew served Taiwanese tea at the Taiwan Embassy’s National Day reception.

The occasion brought together three distinct offerings from Taiwan: Taiwanese fruits presented by Taiwan’s Ministry of Agriculture, tea served by FORMOSA brew, and whisky presented by Kavalan Whisky.

For FORMOSA brew, participating in the reception was an opportunity to share Taiwan’s tea heritage and craftsmanship with an international audience, alongside other celebrated flavours from the island.

Making Taiwanese Tea Part of Modern European Life

Together, these September achievements demonstrate growing interest in FORMOSA brew’s approach: presenting Taiwanese tea through accessible experiences that connect culture, craftsmanship and everyday enjoyment.

From a festival workshop to a diplomatic reception, the brand continues to create opportunities for people to encounter Taiwanese tea, understand its character and discover their own ways of enjoying it.

FORMOSA brew extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, tasted, purchased tea and supported these events. Their curiosity and encouragement made September a meaningful milestone in the brand’s development.
